HOW TO EXCEL IN A COMPETITIVE TECH ENVIRONMENT

It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there and even more so in the tech arena.

So, how can you stand out in a competitive tech environment?

1. Know what your niche is backwards and stick to it

Sure, there are many ways your skill set may overlap with others, but finding your niche and sticking to it will make your offering all the better.

2. Hone your skill

Practice makes perfect!  Make sure you are the best you can be at what you do.  Take courses. Refresh often. Practice Practice Practice! And, test yourself consistently.

3. Source a Mentor

You don’t need to do it on your own – and having someone close to you to soundboard with can make all the difference

4. Join groups that can enhance your skill

Talking to like-minded people can help you get better at what you do and you never know who you will meet there

5.  Keep up to date

Read as much as you can on the changing environment. Study the facts and stats.  Be on top of your game in every way possible.

6. Stay true to yourself

Many will try to change you but you need to stay true to who you are and what you can offer the world.

7. Ask questions

There never was a more stupid person than that one who didn’t ask.  Keep asking. Keep learning – always!

Skills Cafe is supportive of you and your journey, so keep up to date with our frequent tips and tricks.  Be sure to get your professional profile up to date on all the professional sites, and eventually you will be asked to update yours on Skills Cafe platform.
