WHY WOMEN MAKE GREAT ENTREPRENEURS

Its no secret that women are coming out the wood works in terms of starting up their own businesses, especially in the last 10 years. And, its not secret, that its been a tough road for them.
But, our fairer sex is doing well. So, why are women making great entrepreneurs?

FOCUS

With so much to distract, it is vital to focus in on one thing at a time. Whatever is the most pressing, that should be the focus. Starting up a new business requires you to wear many hats, and women know how to do that very well. But, there comes a time to just don one, and because of that focus, one gets more done.

BALANCE

It is an art that most struggle with, but women have been doing it for ages. Kids, career, shopping, friends, family and keeping fit. Its not to say that men don’t find balance too, but its the norm that women take on much more. And, when you decide to add your own business venture to the mix, finding balance becomes even more important.  As entrepreneurs, in general, one must find the balance.

GOAL SETTING

What is the point of starting up a new business when you haven’t set goals. Realising that goals don’t have to be large and overwhelming makes for a good course of action. Women tend to start out small and work their way up to the big stuff.  This is an entrepreneural rule of thumb.  Don’t go too big too soon.

NURTURING

Why would a nurturing attitude be helpful in business? When it comes to dealing with people, whether they be staff or clients or suppliers, a sense of empathy and understanding is required. Women are just good at that, face it guys!

ASKING FOR HELP

Yes, this borders on a sexist topic, but its generally known that men don’t like to ask for help – very general mind you. Women, on the other hand, predominantly have no issues with asking for help, and as entrepreneurs you need loads of it.

COLLABERATION AND CO-OPETITION

Women are used to joining together to accomplish projects, and so they are more inclined to network more and connect with others. Put a woman in a room full of strangers, and she will have spoken to at least half of them by the end of the night.
